ActionStreamer, a media streaming platform for IoT devices, has recently raised a $2.4 million Series A funding round.
The round, led by JumpStart Ventures via the Advanced Manufacturing Fund, saw backing from MAGNET and co-investment from the Castellini Management Company, linked with the Cincinnati Reds.
The capital will be used to amplify the Actionstreamer technology platform, which encompasses an API, SDK, reference hardware, applications, and advanced cloud services.
The company’s vision is to elevate data streaming capabilities and media solutions across a spectrum of sectors including sports, entertainment, aerospace, and industrial, as well as remote surveillance and monitoring.
Founded in 2016 by ex-NFL Linebacker Dhani Jones and tech entrepreneur Chris McLennan, the company initially centered its focus on wearable cameras for sports events.
The company’s evolution has seen it become involved in a contract with the U.S. Air Force and collaborating with T-Mobile on 5G technology, yielding 5G cameras qualified by Amazon Web Services.
